1. The Terminator (1984):

2. Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991):

3. Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines (2003):

4. Terminator: Salvation (2009):

5. Terminator: Gensys (2015):

Five Reasons To Continue To Try New Music - #Music #Blog

Metallica's, 'Cunning Stunts' concert, a great album to really introduce you to this epic band!
Ok, so first off, I have to say that I to say that until I started this site, I found myself being very set in the type of music that I was listening to... (I know I made it seem like I listened to a ton of different types of music back in the day... And periodically over the years I actually have!)

But since starting this site I have come to realize that there is so much more music in the world to enjoy!

And so I thought that I would give you guys my five reasons to continue to try new music...

At number 5: Being a metal head is cool, but it is not all that is there!
Being a metal head rocks, but that is not all she wrote!
Don't hate me, but it is true! Besides the obvious, (stuff like Rock 'N Roll,) there are various sub-genres of these types of music, as well as the ancestry of these two very similar genre's to enjoy!

4: And speaking of historical ancestry...
Believe it or not, Elvis Presley's music is a great example of the ancestry of both, 'Heavy Metal' and other forms of modern, 'Rock'!
It is true that all music comes from some where, and rock music, as well as heavy metal music has a rich history of great rock 'n roll/jazz music to enjoy! Stuff like, 'Elvis Presley', etc... And if you close yourself to this bright and beautiful tapestry of music, you will lose out on some of the truly great music!

At number 3: New stuff!
Deadmau5 may not have been around as long as say, 'Metallica', but there brand of techno rocks!
Now I have to admit that I have been accused of this in this past, but there is a ton of great new music, some that is great head banging music, and some that will keep you excited... And where as those bands you love should stay like that. If you decide though to ignore the new stuff that comes out... You will miss some great stuff!

At number 2: Some new and inventive stuff done by bands.
Metallica's S&M concert was a brilliant, inventive concert!
In the late 1990s, Metallica did a concert with the San Francisco Symphony orchestra, this for the time was pretty inventive and different, and people (myself included,) found that the recorded album is truly awesome! Since then, there have been a ton of other great albums that have done this... Stuff that if you close yourself off to this type of stuff... Well you may end up screwing yourself out of some great music!

At number 1: Closing yourself off is just stupid!
Can he see you?
There, I said it, enjoy the bands that you enjoy, but keep yourself open to new music, you would be pretty stupid not to! There is just to much great music out there not to keep yourself open!

Song Of The Half: Facade by: Disturbed!

A fantastic song!
We here at Hellinspace in conjunction with our other site, HellsDepot are introducing a new thing that we hope will give you guys even more opportunity to find some really cool Horror/Scifi entertainment to enjoy!

That being the item, 'of the half'! What does that mean... Well simply put, we have 6 categories in which we regularly write about, and so every month we are going to award a particular item from one of those categories that our staff have found that we really like, and that deserves special merit!

And for this month we thought that we would mention the song, 'Facade' from Disturbed's 2008 album: 'Indestructible'! Let's just put it this way... I can tell you why I like this song, but for more information why not just check out this song for yourself!

Song Of The Month: Metallica's 'Whiskey In The Jar'!

Jason Newsted maybe gone, but this song is a classic from his time with the band!
Another first! My first, 'Song Of The Month' for my new blog... Dare I say it... YAY!

Now more seriously, the song that I wanted to recommend is Metallica's, 'Whiskey In The Jar' from their 1998 album, 'Garage Inc.'

There are a lot of amazing songs on that album that are different from Metallica's norm that I do really like, but I decided to pick this song, because this song is probably in my opinion both representative of the amazing work that they have always brought to the table, and the brilliant and fun work that they brought to that album... but still plays well almost 20 years later, and happens to be one of those songs that rather you have been  following them for over 20 year (like I have,) or are just checking their music out for the first time, is a song you are going to love!

Song Of The Week: Nat King Cole's 'Straighten Up And Fly Right'

Nat King Cole... It could be said that his brand of music is a distant ancestor to the modern heavy metal song!
So metal heads, as important as it is to record the greats and their music for posterity here, groups and musicians like: 'Disturbed', 'Metallica', 'Ozzy Osbourne', 'Led Zepplin', and the countless other greats that have come and gone, as well as those that have stayed around, there is also a side that I would be remiss if I didn't properly acknowledge... The ancestry of where all of the modern greats come from!

Now you might be saying to yourself... 'Well who cares about moldy oldies from the 40s, 50s or 60s?'

Well the fact is, is that some of these, 'moldy oldies' are pretty bad-ass and deserve attention as well! And so I thought that I would recommend for this fresh new week's, 'Song Of The Week': Nat King Cole's, 'Straighten Up And Fly Right' (1943)!

Kurt Cobain's Montage Of Heck

Kurt Cobain... A master of grunge rock in the 90s is being brought to prominence with a new documentary about the master!
Kurt Cobain... This guy... Man this guy in the early 90s, did for Grunge, what Elvis did for rock 'n roll nearly 40 years earlier... I mean you could say that in Kurt Cobain's short, yet prolific career, that he became the King of the grunge rock scene!

Now something of interest has come to light recently, and that is the documentary that Brett Morgen (Chicago 10) recently did about the life and times of the amazing talent, and the darker more unfortunate side of his life called: Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck (2015).

The poster for the movie: Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck (2015).

Another thing that appears to have come to light since Kurt Cobain's biopic has started playing the circuit at Sundance, is an interesting sound montage mix tape that he did in the late 80s!

The Future Of Heavy Metal... One That Maybe Starting To Brighten Up

Hybrid Circle, a great example of modern metal that rocks... They are just one example this can give us metal heads hope!
You know I will be honest and say that when dumb bass boy bands, Britney Spears and their ilk kind of became what is popular in music back in the late 90s, I got pretty depressed with the turn that music was taking...

What I mean by this is that I was not a fan of the reduction of such an awesome sound like what heavy metal had been offering for decades in to this lame boy band style non-sense that has been dominant in our culture now for so long... (And is still popular with such morons as, 'Justin Bieber' being a major player on the scene... I don't know if you can tell, but that type of music... To say the least, I am not a fan of!)

With all of that in mind I have recently come to a very important discovery... That the future of heavy metal may actually still be intact!

Battle Beast... A recent discovery for me, but still... An amazing band that just released a new album!
What I mean by this is the fact that there are still a lot of the old guard that are still kicking as much ass in there music today, as they did back when they first got started! Such bands as, 'Metallica', or even, 'Megathdeth'... And that is just to name a few!

And if that wasn't a major plus point in favor of the continuing success of heavy metal music... Well then try this, now before I go on, let me say this, I am well aware of the fact that the bands I am just about to mention aren't at this point, 'new', but I do have a point, so bare with me...

Anyway, with that said, I thought that I should give bands like, 'Linkin Park'... Now it is true that they are no longer the newest kids on the playground, but they are an examples of an amazing mega superpower band, that is more recent then those that I just mentioned, and as a matter of fact, I would venture to say that there are more coming out every year!

Linkin Park... Newerish... And still kicking ass!
And speaking of these newer indie bands, I recently was contacted by a band, 'Hybrid Circle'... Now these guys truly rock, they have a sound that is there own, but you can definitely tell also had it's inspiration with the heavy metal music of yesterday that made heavy metal the amazing music that it is to this day and has remained insanely popular!

For more information on what I am talking about, enjoy!

Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax And Megadeth In A Nintendo Game... To Cool

Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax & Slayer get an 8-bit revamp!
If you're a metal head like me... Well I think you will find this news to be not only exciting, but also being a fan of retro video games (like Nintendo games...) I have to say that not only did I love the video, but I suspect the game would have been amazing if it had been real!

That's right folks,  this 83 second 8 bit clip that we found courtesy of: Geeks Of Doom, it turns out was the bad-ass creation of Loudwire.com, in collaboration with Filthy Frackers... Here is what the folks at Loudwire had to say:
"If there was a NES video game made in the late ’80s about the Big Four of thrash metal, this is what we dreamed up the game intro would be. Since this game doesn’t really exist, we broke all rules and put in cameos of some of our favorite retro game characters in as well! Can you identify them all? Which 8-bit music video was your favorite: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer or Anthrax?"

- Loudwire.com (talking about the video they made for an 8-bit video game about 4 of the biggest names in Heavy Metal, (Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth & Slayer,) that doesn't actually exist...)

Now this video has to do with what the title screen would have looked like had it been made... But let's be honest here, how cool would it have been had it been made?

While you are checking it out,  don't forget to check out the classic video game characters in the background!

The Song Of The Week: Callejon's 'Neuer Song'

That's right folks, it looks like another week has caught up with us... And thus, it is now time to play: 'The Song Of The Week'...

Now as for the song of the week... There are many reasons why I will choose a song for you guys to sink your teeth in to... One, I am certain is going to be universally enjoyed... Or maybe a song from a specific category in the hopes of bridging the gap between fans... Well in this case, it is a little bit of the second one, with an international flare!

The song of the week is: Neuer Song by German Metalcore band: 'Callejon'!

Five Awesome Green Day Songs From The 1990s

Green Day in the early days... They rocked as much back then as they do now!
Green Day... Man, what can I say about these guys that hasn't already been said? I mean these guys do truly rock! Granted unfortunately it is true that they haven't had as strong of a presence as they once did, but in the 1990s, I have to say that these guys truly rocked, and rocked hard!

So I thought that it might be kind of fun to give a little reminder note, with these: 'Five Awesome Green Day Songs From The 1990s':

At number 5: 'Basket Case', from their classic 1994 album: 'Dookie.'

With number 4, we have: 'Brain Stew/Jaded', A two in one combo from their 1995 album: 'Insomniac.'

Next up on the block, at number 3: 'Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life), another great son from their 1997 album: 'Nimrod.'

Number 2: 'Welcome To Paradise'... A personal favorite of mine from an early album of theirs, 'Kerplunk.'

And finally, last but not least, at number 1: 'She' (Maybe one of the more defining songs... Well in terms of teen movies of the 1990s...) Anyway, this song is also from their classic album, 'Dookie'

Metal/Rock 'N Roll Songs In The 90s That Helped Push Horror & ScienceFiction Movies Of The Era To Their Limit

Escape From L.A. Is a great example of a movie whose soundtrack was so good that it made the movie even better!
Each successive generation seems to have it's own type of music that teens just seem to absolutely love, and older people just seem to absolutely hate! Most of the time these types of music generally seem to gravitate toward some form of rock 'n roll music...

There was one form of rock music that seemed to heavily benefit for being apart of soundtracks in the 1990s, that being the, 'Metal' genre!

Now there are many great examples of this, but one of them that I thought that I would mention here is the soundtrack to, The Faculty (1998)!

The Faculty... One of the better teen horror/sci-fi movies of the 90s that was made even better due to the it's soundtrack!
There are some truly awesome metal heads/rockers that helped to form the awesomeness that is, 'The Faculty' soundtrack, including: "The Offspring', 'Creed', 'Soul Asylum' as well as, 'Class Of '99' and so many more! And out of them, there is some great music that came out of this soundtrack that for years after the movie still remained... And in some cases still does remain popular!

A couple of great examples of these are the two, 'Another Brick In The Wall' songs that were done by the one hit wonders, 'Class Of '99'! Another great example of this is the song, 'The Kids Aren't Alright', by: The Offspring!

And speaking of, 'The Kids Aren't Alright', this song, which came off of their album, 'Americana' is still to this day, one of the more popular songs that The Offspring has done from that era!

And another side of, 'The Offspring' that I thought that I would mention here, and which is the subject of the next movie that I thought that I would mention here, is the soundtrack to the movie, Idle Hands (1999).

A great soundtrack that made this movie even better then the awesomeness that it already has!
Now this movie had a lot of classic songs from a lot of amazing bands, but the one that I wanted to mention here, is Rob Zombie's 'Dragula'...

I know what you are thinking, why didn't I mention The Offspring's, 'I Wanna Be Sedated'... (And don't get me wrong, I do think this song has it's place as an influencer in this movie, just not the horror side...)

No, in this case, I thought that I would mention this song, because this song was a great song, and I feel like tonally, helped keep up the beat with the teen comedy side, as well as the horror side as well...

I will say that there are a lot more songs from that era that did their jobs admirably in how they influenced 90s horror, but these songs that I mentioned above, I do feel helped to push horror some of the best horror movies of the 90s to their limit!

The Song Of The Week: Skrillex's Rock 'N Roll (Will Take The Mountain)

I was recently talking with a buddy of mine, the CEO over at AwesomeBMovies & MoviePosterDirect, 'Matt Dowling', and he gave me a brilliant idea for a new segment that we will be offering up to you guys once a week, that is the, 'Song Of The Week'!

And to inaugurate this run, I thought that you Skrillex fans would enjoy, 'Rock 'N Roll (Will Take The Mountain)' from Skrillex's 2010 album, 'Scary Monsters Nice Spirits'!

So enjoy!

Three Classic 80s Songs From Three Classic 80s Horror/Sci Fi Movies

Recently I have been on kind of a kick when it comes to listening to some of the great soundtracks of the 1990s, and so I thought that I might have some fun, and mention: 'Five Classic 80s Songs From Five Classic 80s Horror/Sci Fi Movies':

And with out further adieu:

At number 4: Dokken - 'Dream Warriors' for: A Nightmare On Elm Street: Dream Warriors (1987):

At number 3: Ray Parker, Jr. - 'Ghostbusters' for: Ghostbusters (1984).

At number 1: G Tom Mac - 'Cry Little Sister' for: The Lost Boys (1987).

There are a lot of other great songs from a lot of other great horror and science fiction movies from that era, I just thought that you guys would enjoy these!

The Mixtape... A Fun Addition For A Horror/Sci-fi Story

A tape with many uses...
For those of you who were born in the 1990s, I reckon you may not have heard of, 'The Mixtape'... The Mixtape, (later the, 'Mixed CD', I suspect,) was a tape that people recorded songs on to, to give as gifts to other people.

I suspect that there was many reasons why people gave out mixed tapes, (as party favors, or maybe corporate gifts, or for any number of other reasons...) But the most famous one that I know of, (and this one you might recognize from movies, I know that it is the one that I know of for the most part,) that being when a guy gave a girl he was interested in dating a mixed tape of some of the music that would help sway her in the direction of going out with him.

The way to a girl's heart... Through her favorite music?
Now you might be wondering why I am mentioning this...

The reason that I am mentioning this is because one of the reasons I started up this site is because I wanted to help writers in their endeavors to go from being amateur, to professional, and it recently dawned on me, that the concept of the, 'mixtape' could be a great addition in to a story!

Now before I go on, let me say this, in movies the, 'mixtape' seems to be mostly used for, 'romantic comedies', but since this is a site for horror and science fiction, I thought that I would do those...

First off, in horror, there is one salient and recognized truth (no matter what the sub-genre or type of script you are writing,) anything and everything can be a weapon, (just imagine Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees throwing the character's mixtape at him or her as he or she flees.)

Trust me when I say, they could and probably will eventually kill some one with a mixtape!
Next off, lets talk about era... The era of the mixtape, (don't know specifically how long, but I have heard of them as far back as the 80s,) but any of these eras that you place your story in, that has the mixtape in it, is a time period were some of the best modern horror/science fiction movie/books have been written... So it goes without saying that having that in play in some capacity should work pretty nicely...

And lastly, I thought that I would mention here the fact that the concept of the, 'mixtape' can be a story in and of itself... Just think, Videodrome (1983)...

If they could do it, it so can you!
There are other uses for it, but I think you get the point, and I do hope that this helps!

Five Classic Songs From Germany Own, 'Rammstein'

You know due to the fact that I am not great with foreign languages, one of the things that I have generally had to do is to  stick with doing reviews and blogs that are mostly around English speaking things... But English titles are not only not just the only thing that  I am interested in reviewing or blogging about, but I have always wanted to (and I do try as much as I can,) have tried to make this site more international...

And so I thought for the fans out there that are looking for a more international flavor for the Industrial Heavy Metal music, that you guys might these 5 songs from Germany's own, 'Rammstein'!

And here we go!

At number 5: Bayern des samma mia (1998):

At number 4: Keine Lust (2004):

And next up, at number 3: Sonne (2001):

At number 2: Moskau (2004):

And last, but certainly not least, at number 1: Ohne Dich (2004):

There are a lot of other great songs out there by Rammstein, I just thought that I would mention these, because well... Let's be honest... They are a lot of fun!

Remixes... Sometimes A Good Thing

Remixes... Now before I go on, let me say this... For me I have to say that I have been a fan of a fair amount of remixes over the years, don't get me wrong, for my money, the original will always be the best, but some times a good remix can take a fun song and make it better... And some times they cannot!

In the world today there are many great examples of remixed music that I found that I have really liked, like stuff from Rob Zombie... And most directly a song that I recently have discovered that was remixed recently, a song that he did when he was in White Zombie called, 'Thunder Kiss '65'... Now the truth is, is I liked this song a lot when White Zombie did it, but I found the take on this song to be an awful lot of fun as well!

For more information on this song, please enjoy!

Another talent that I have found that I really like a lot on his own, but I have also found that the remixed versions of his music to also be a lot of fun is, 'Michael Jackson's' music!

Now for the fans out there, don't crucify me... But it is true! Michael Jackson was when he was alive and maintain's posthumously being an absolutely amazing musical genius... But what some people have done to his music... (Well let's be honest, nothing beats Michael's music,) but what some of these people have done to his music, may not be better then the original, but is actually a fair amount of fun!

For more information, please enjoy!

Now for the more darker side to remixes... For this, before I continue I should say that I don't know a whole heck of a lot about this type of remix music, but that is those songs that just suck (I don't know a lot about these because I honestly prefer the original over the remix,) but still...

For this I wanted to mention a remixed song that Skrillex did for Rob Zombie's song, 'Sick Bubblegum'... It just plain sucked... This song was given a weird electronic techno butchered version of the song (which in my opinion, in and of itself is not cool, because the original song pretty well rocks!)

Either way, check it out for yourself...

In the end, there is a lot of really good and really bad remixes out there, and I got to thinking about them recently... especially due to the fact that I was recently listening to the Rob Zombie one that I first mentioned... And I have to say that I truly enjoyed it... And if you give it a try, you might as well!
