As time has gone on, their has been a ton of truly magnificent horror and Science Fiction TV Shows that have come out, (some could say that there is a bit of a renaissance happening for the genres in general...)
But there is one show that I have to be honest and say has really hit the mark for me on every level this past half year, and that show is: The Flash!
A fantastic show that deserves to be the show of the half!
Besides the fact that the show is based on one of my favorite DC characters, I am going to say that the development in the individual characters on the show truly is amazing, and that the special effects are spectacular, and the wrapped up in the story lines will keep you on the edge of your seat! For more information, please enjoy this trailer for season 2!
Der Kapitan Lanser is about to learn the horrifying truth of serving in Hitler's navy when he enters... The Twilight Zone!
Being a fan of both, 'Horror' & 'Science Fiction' and having researched both genres in depth, I have come to a conclusion... Movies and TV shows (episodes anyway,) that have something mystical or supernatural that in some ways revolve around World Wars 1 or 2 are fun! Shocking... But true! A couple of great examples of this being, Hellraiser (1987)... This movie tells the tale of a World War 1 military officer who ends up leading Hell's campaign to gather up souls... another one being, Shock Waves (1977), a movie about the last Nazi hold out and the Zombie Nazi's that are protecting the island... (I mean how much better can you get with Zombie Nazis?)
Nazi Zombies... I mean how cool is that!
Another set is the stuff that, 'The Twilight Zone' did... Now I haven't seen much of this yet... But in the anthology movie, there is a segment where a bigot gets transported to Nazi Germany that is pure genius! And then there is an episode that I finally got to see all the way through that was absolutely genius... And that episode being: Episode 10: 'Judgement Night' (1959)! Written by: Rod Serling (Planet Of The Apes) & Directed By: John Brahm (Shane). Starring: Nemiah Persoff (Twins), Deirdre Owens (Thriller), Patrick Macnee (The Howling), Ben Wright (The Bionic Woman) & Leslie Bradley (Attack Of The Crab Monsters).
"We'll ride the ghost of that ship every night. Every night, Der Kapitan, for eternity. They could die only once, just once, but we could die a hundred million times. We could ride the ghost of that ship every night. Every night for eternity." - Lt. Mueller (James Franciscus: A quote from: Twilight Zone - The Original Series episode: 'Judgement Night' (1959)!)
This brilliantly crafted tale, tells the story of a German man by the name of, 'Lanser' (Played by: Nemiah Persoff).... Now this guy seems to know who he is... But not where he is... That essentially he is on a ship of the damned!
Lanser, as he is trying to figure out what is going on...
You see the S.S. Queen Of Glasgow is transporting people across the ocean in 1942... A time when the German submarine corps of Nazi Germany was basically sinking any none, 'Axis' boat... And especially, 'Allied' boats!
Now this boat has lost it's way in a fog and has drifted out of sight of it's convoy... And as Lanser starts to put all of the pieces together of what is going on and who he is, he begins to realize that not only is he on a doomed ship... But that due to an absolutely supernatural circumstance, he may never get off!
Lanser with a steward begins to get the first clue of what is going on...
In the end this episode is fun for many reasons: 1. It is brilliantly crafted... As a matter of fact, this episode is great in it's less then 30 minute format, and could also make for an absolutely brilliant movie! 2. Another thing is the talent... You rarely get to see talent of that caliber these days, and these guys that made this episode did so well, it was like watching a novel unfold! 3. The last thing that I wanted to say is that this episode... considering when it was made... This episode had absolutely brilliant special effects! In the end, the only thing that I did not understand is why they put an, 'American' in a, 'German' role and not sound German? Either way, this episode is a total blast and well worth watching... Check it out, I think you might agree!
Batman is about to fight his most, 'mesmerizing' opponent yet!
Alright, so I know it has been awhile since I have done a review for anything from, 'Batman Beyond', the truth is, is it has been awhile since I have done a review of anything at all... But I am back now, and I thought that you guys would enjoy a review from the Batman's of the future... Or Batman Beyond!
Now this one is an interesting one, you see this episode titled: 'Spellbound' was directed by: Butch Lukic (James Bond Jr.) and stars: Will Friedle (Kim Possible), Kevin Controy (Batman: The Animated Series) & John Cypher (Masters Of The Universe).
This episode tells an interesting story, you see, in ole Gotham, crime is a constant... I mean that is the reason for the, 'Dark Knight' right? Well in Gotham, there is a new class of criminal that seems to have come in to take over... Regular people!
How do you fight an opponent who has you under his spell?
And as Terry McGinnis (Will Friedle) suits up to find out what is going on... Along with the help of, Bruce Wayne (Kevin Conroy), Batman is about to find out that even he may become susceptible to the big bad controlling the criminal world!
A Spellbound citizen robbing her family... A crime she won't never forget...
Now I keep mentioning this episode as being, 'interesting'... Well the truth is, is I do find episodes where the criminals manipulate people to be an awful lot of fun... And with, 'Batman', no matter who DC gets to do these types of episodes, they always tend to do a pretty good job!
So if you haven't check this one out yet, then I highly recommend doing so... It is an awful lot of fun!
Sam & Dean are looking to squash some bugs in this episode!
So I have to say that Supernatural season 1 has been a lot of fun, with thrills, chills, fighting urban legends, ghosties, and all sorts of creepy crawleys! So of course I come up against the one dud of the season so far... And you know what? That is a good thing! Now that maybe a weird thing... but if you think about it, it makes a sort of sense to it... If you make the first season an absolute smashing success... Then the production team, and the actor/actresses will have to work harder to meet and beat the smashingly amazing season! (That is generally part of the reason why movie sequels rarely surpass the first movie...) And the dud episode for this season being: Season 1 - Episode 8: 'Bugs' (2005)!
These are just some of the bugs in this dull episode!
Written by: Rachel Nave (The Shark Tank Redemption), Bill Coakley & Directed by: Kim Manners (The X-Files). Starring: Jensen Ackles (My Bloody Valentine), Jared Padalecki (House Of Fears), Andrew Airlie (Apollo 18), Tyler Johnston (The Phantoms) & Carrie Genzel (Watchmen).
"The manicured lawns. 'How was your day, Honey'. I'd blow my brains out!" - Dean Winchester (A quote from Supernatural episode: Bugs.)
This episode tells the story of how over 100 years ago, the military massacred a group of Indians that had been living there at that time... Now during this time an Indian Witch Doctor curses the land, so that when an equinox happens, bugs in the land will go through and clean out the area of invading mankind... In the present time, a family has moved in and started a housing development... And well with it has come the latest equinox, and the bugs start acting weird, and killing the people that are living/working there!
It looks like the bugs are looking to squash some humans!
The only way to save these people is Sam (Jared Padalecki) & Dean (Jensen Ackles) to rescue the unsuspecting people that are living there before the centuries old curse takes out these developers! In the end... This episode was well acted, and the vision of Kim Manners is as awesome as the other stuff that he has done... The problem that I had with this episode was the story... It just didn't appeal to me as all the other episodes story lines have done so, so far... Anyway, check it out.. The episode is not great, but it is one to check out if you are going through the show religiously...
These star crossed lovers are just like Jack & Rose from when the Titantic was still a sailing ship... Just over 1,000 years in the future!
So I got to say that this is pretty much a mile stone for Hellinspace guys! What I mean by this is the fact that this episode will mark the first of this website to start reviewing the second season of a TV series! And what a season opener! So with out further adieu: Season 2 - Episode 1: 'A Flight To Remmeber' (1999)!
Maybe with the Planet Express crew... This, 'Titanic' will work out better then it's predecessor!
Written by: Eric Horsted (Home Improvement) & Directed by: Peter Avanzino (Drawn Together), Gregg Vanzo (The Simpsons). Starring: Billy West (The 7D), Katey Sagal (Sons Of Anarchy), John DiMaggio (Adventure Time), Tress MacNeille (Animaniacs), Maurice LaMarche (Alvin & The Chipmunks Meet The Wolfman).
"Wait, my cheating unit malfunctioned. You gotta' give me a do-over." - Bender (A quote from Futurama episode: A Flight To Remember.)
Now this episode tells the story of how the Planet Express crew decides to take a vacation on one of the most luxurious (and supposedly safest,) luxury space liners money can by... That is also on it's maiden voyage... Sound familiar?
Love may also be in the air on this, 'Titanic', but there is something else that has carried over as well...
Well you got it sports fans... And it looks like the passengers of this, 'Titanic' may not have much better luck then the original passengers... In the end, this episode is a pretty hilarious spoof of the movie... I am not going to say it is the best of episodes... It is funny, but it also has some drama in it that I really just didn't care to much about one way or the other... But check it out... It is well worth the time!
You know, I have to admit that so far I have some pretty mixed feelings about: 'Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated'... I mean so far it does have some truly fun episodes... But like the first bunch of episodes that started out this season were really bad... But then the last episode was a total blast! And now this next episode, 'The Grasp Of The Gnome'... Meh? Not great... But not the worst...
The Scooby Gang trying to find, 'Shaggy' in the latest episode of, 'Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated'!
Written by: Mitch Watson (Totally Spies), John P. McCann (Animaniacs) & Directed by: Victor Cook (21 Grams). Starring: Starring: Frank Welker (The Real Ghostbusters), Mindy Cohn (Sex And Death 101), Grey DeLisle (Ultimate Avengers), Matthew Lillard (The Bridge), Patrick Warburton (Ted) & Gary Cole (The Town That Dreaded Sundown). This story tells the tale of how while the gang is at a local medieval carnival, one of the carnivals patrons ends up getting attacked by a little, 'garden gnome' looking creature, and is paralyzed completely by this... Well of course it looks like a case for the, 'Scooby Gang' to find out who this paralyzing gnome is and stop him... And this time it's personal!
It looks like Shaggy & Scooby have fallen out of the case!
You see, the Gnome has taken Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) hostage, and it will be up to the Scooby Gang to rescue him before something dastardly happens! Now the main reason why this episode is kind of bland... Well the basic story and what not is good, but the truth is, is the useless none-sense (like the, 'Mayor' and the 'Sheriff' hoping the bad guys will continue to commit crimes to profit the town,) is all back in it's dull ridiculous pattern... In the end, if you are following the series, you should check this one out... It is not a bad episode, but there is not much point in watching this episode otherwise!
Man am I glad I got back in to Supernatural! I mean the first season keeps getting better and better! The comedy is getting more and more refined (by that I mean even funnier!) The scares are scarier, and the cheesey moments that wrecked parts of the earlier part of this season are all but gone! And I have to say that season: 1 - Episode: 7, 'Hook Man', maybe one of the best episodes of the first season!
It looks like Sam is going to get caught when the, 'Hook Man' tries to hook himself a, 'Hunter' of the creepy crawly!
Written by: John Shiban (The X-Files) & Directed by: David Jackson (Atomic Train). Starring: Jensen Ackles (Smallville), Jared Padalecki (House Of Wax), Jane McGregor (Almost Human), Dan Butler (Fraiser) & Alf Humphreys (The Uninvited)
"Me be quiet? You be quiet!" - Dean Winchester (A quote from Supernatural, season: 1 - Episode 7: Hook Man)
This episode tells the story of an urban legend that has surfaced in a small Iowa College town, to make the legend a reality! You see there is a ghost that seems to have latched on to a college girl, and is killing people around her in the same style as the urban legend of, 'The Hook Man'!
A note the Hook Man was so gracious to leave!
And if Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) don't stop this vengeful spirit soon, the college girl could be next! I have to be honest with you guys and say that I would have given it 4 devils... I mean this episode is just plain awesome! The only reason why I did not is because this episode maybe one of my favorites of the season, but it just didn't quite hit that 4 devil Mark because it just wasn't a favorite over all!
I know that it has been awhile for a review for an episode of, 'Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated'... The truth is, is that most of the episodes that have come up till recently have kind of really sucked! I mean the criss-cross between the 60s and the modern times was just plain weird... Fred's creepy obsession with traps, and his desire to be more a part of the, 'guys' as opposed to being with Daphne was odd (I know it is a kid's show, but it does touch upon, 'dating' and, 'love' and the like... And the last thing that has sort of been killing the show is the fact that all the officials in the town seemed to prefer to have the criminals running around committing crimes as opposed to being imprisoned (so that they can meet their bottom line!) The fact that they got rid of most of this is just part of the reason why season 1 - episode 7: 'In Fear Of The Phantom' was such a surprise!
Daphne (Grey DeLisle) will go undercover as a singer for a famous rock band in this episode of, 'Scooby-Do! Mystery Incorporated.'
Starring: Frank Welker (The Real Ghostbusters), Mindy Cohn (Sex And Death 101), Grey DeLisle (Ultimate Avengers), Matthew Lillard (The Bridge), Fred Tatasciore (Iron Man And Captain America: Heroes United), Patrick Warburton (Ted) & Gary Cole (The Town That Dreaded Sundown).
"Listen, Hex Girls, carefully. You are bound for misery! This will be your final show. Or you will suffer endless woe! So saith the Phantom." — Phantom to the Hex Girls ' (Quote from: Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Season 1 - Episode 7: 'In Fear Of The Phantom')
This episode tells the story of the, 'Hex Girls', an all-girl heavy metal band that is real popular with teens (including the Scooby gang)... But when the Scooby Gang manage to get tickets, the show turns disastrous, when a party crasher decides to crash the party and destroy the fun for everyone!
This guys devotion to this band is killer!
You see, his name is, 'The Phantom', and if the Scooby Gang can't stop him, then he might get his wish of, 't aking out' the band for good! In the end, like I said, most of what I mentioned above was gone... As a matter of fact, the only really annoying part to this episode is the Mayor and the Sheriff... But other then that, this episode was so good, I would have to say that even the music in this episode was a lot of fun! So check it out... This is an episode that may take you by surprise, in a good way!
Alright guys, so I know that it has been awhile, but I thought it was time we checked in with the latest episode of, 'Supernatural', and catch up with Sam & Dean as they work their way through the Demon population... And I have to say... This episode... Definitely an interesting take on the evil doppelganger concept that is real popular in horror and sci-fi tv shows! By the way, the episode that I am talking about is episode 6 of season 1, 'Skin'!
Sam & Dean are working out some sibling rivalry issues... Or are they?
Written by: John Shiban (Breaking Bad) & Directed by: Robert Duncan McNeill (Star Trek: Voyager). Starring: Jared Padalecki (Friday The 13th), Jensen Ackles (Dark Angel) & Amy Grabow (Cyberslut Killers In The Hollywood Hills).
"That better be you Sam and not that freak of nature!" - Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) - Quote from, 'Supernatural' episode: Skin!
This episode tells the story of how while Dean (Jensen Ackles) & Sam (Jared Padalecki) are on the road to their next destination, Sam gets an email from an old friend from school that has to do with the fact that her brother (another friend of Sam's) has seemingly killed his girl friend... While not actually being their to do so... This convinces Sam to get Dean and take off for Sam's friends, and to find out what is going on... Also how it is possible that it can be proven that Sam's friend did kill his girlfriend, while not having actually been there to do so!
It's like looking in a weird mirror right?
Now I am going to hold off on the doppelganger part of this episode... I don't want to give to much away... But the truth is, is this episode is fun... The only problem with this episode is that it doesn't have the same flair that alot of the other episodes seem to have... The flair that makes Supernatural both fun and on the edge of your seat... Still in the end, if you get a chance, you might want to check this episode out, it is an interesting one!

The Twilight Zone... This show truly is to good! What do I mean by this? Well it just the way it sounds. This show re-defined horror and science fiction in the 1950s. and created revolutionary episodes that were so popular, that they have been used in updated versions of the show, and have also been the inspiration for some movies that have come out in the last 50 years! And this latest episode! forget about it! I mean this episode was so good that the main problem that I had with it was that the episode was not turned in to a movie! (Besides the fact that this episode is pretty phenomenal, and would make a great movie, it is also an episode that was to short because it was so good!) This episode being, episode 9: 'Perchance To Dream' (1959):
Watch as Edward Hall is led in to, 'The Twilight Zone'!
Written by: Charles Beaumont (Brain Dead) & Directed by: Robert Florey (The Outer Limits). Starring: Richard Conte (A Walk In The Sun), John Larch (The Amityville Horror) & Suzanne Lloyd (The Return Of Mr. Moto). This awesome episode tells the story of how a man by the name of Edward Hall (Richard Conte), is a man with some latent psychic ability... And when he goes through a terrifying bout with a dream, he decides to enlist the help of Dr. Eliot Rathmann (John Larch). Now little does this guy know, but from the moment that Mr. Edward Hall entered the office, his powers were going to work against him, because in the end he truly entered the, 'Twlight Zone'.
In this case, dreaming of a beautiful woman could be hazardous to Mr. Edward Hall's health!
The truth is, is I know I am not giving this review the justice it deserves... But for horror fans, check this episode out... I am sure you won't regret it!
I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to Futurama, for me I have to say that my favorite character of all time has to be, 'Bender', that smart-ass robot always knew when the right time to make a comic remark, and when it would be the funniest point to tease or generally make fun of some one and get the most amount of comedy out of it! Now in the first season though, Bender, it seems, had the most growing up to do... I mean in the first couple of episodes of the series, his character... Although mostly there, did not seem to be particularly developed, but as the season went on, you could tell the progression, and when he got his first episode devoted to him... I must say, absolutely hilarious! That episode of course being: 'Hell Is For Other Robots'!
The Beastie Boys singing to Bender in Robot Hell!
Written by: Eric Kaplan (The Big Bang Theory) & Directed by: Rich Moore (Technological Threat), Gregg Vanzo (RoboCop 3). Starring: Billy West (The 7D), Katey Sagal (Married With Children), John DiMaggio (Adventure Time), Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons), Phil LaMarr (Samurai Jack) & Lauren Tom (Bad Santa). This hilarious episode tells the story of how after Bender gets addicted to Electricity, he weens himself off of it and finds robot religion... And like all great conversions, Bender goes for it with gusto and ends up being a good little robot for awhile... A little while anyway... That is of course until his so-called friends who have gotten board of him, decide that they want the old Bender back, and thus tempt him to the darkside...
Joining this religion will have funny consequences for not just Bender, but the rest of the Planet Express crew!
And when he disappears, it will be up to his friends to find him... Because even in a robot's religion... Where there is a heaven, there is also a hell! In the end, the only thing that I didn't like about this episode was the song near the end of it... I mean I know that last part of the episode is tied in to it... but still... Other then that guys, it is a fun episode, and certainly one worth watching!
Star Trek... Man I will be honest with you guys and say that considering the monumental level of contributions to the world of Science & Technology... And let's be honest here and say, 'The world' in generally makes in my opinion, 'Star Trek' to be one of the more prolific planetary icons in history! And well, let's explore that shall we... Why is it that Star Trek inspired so many people so much... Well to be absolutely honest, I don't know everyone this show has inspired... But for me, I got inspired because the entertainment that the cast and crew brought to this series, coupled with the educational side (and, 'yes' I do know this show does have a rather campy side to it, I also do know that it does have an educational side to it as well!) With all of that said, I believe that the ability to learn something while being entertained is definitely a large part of why this series has become so important, and Season 1 - Episode 8: 'Miri' is a great example of this! Written by: Adrian Spies (Dark Of The Sun) & Directed by: Vincent McEveety (K-9). Starring: William Shatner (The Babysitter), Leonard Nimoy (Fringe), Kim Darby (Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers), Michael J. Pollard (Sleepaway Camp 3), DeForest Kelley (Night Of The Leepus) & Grace Lee Whitney (Star Trek: Of Gods And Men).
"A child entering puberty on this planet means a death sentence." - Dr. McCoy (A quote from: Star Trek The Original Series: Episode 8 - Season 1: 'Miri')
Captain Kirk (William Shatner), Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Yeoman Rand (Grace Lee Whitney) as they are working with a local girl, 'Miri' in trying to solve the calamity that nearly destroyed a near-Earth style planet!
You see, this episode tells the story of how after receiving an ancient distress call, the U.S.S. Enterprise goes to investigate it, where they come to discover an Earth like planet... An Earth like planet with human life on it!
You see this planet though has one problem, it turns out that all of the adults on the planet have died, and when the children come of age, they begin to loose it! And as the Enterprise begins the race against time to save these children, they will come to a discovery about this near identical Earth that will make resolving this problem imperative, before the crew of the Enterprise is destroyed as well!
Dr. McCoy hard at work trying to find out what happened to one of the local kids!
Now in all honesty, I am a huge fan of this episode... From the very human element that is brought together when one of the children on the planet, 'Miri' befriends Captain Kirk, to the fun thrilling aspects of, 'will he, or won't he make it'... But the truth is, is I do believe that if you check it out that you might like it as well! It certainly is worth giving it a try!
One thing about the Twilight Zone is that it seems to never fail to have a fun episode just around the corner (even if the episode before it really was not that good...) And there is one episode that I have wanted to watch, pretty much ever since I first got in to the series, an episode that I would say is only seconded in pop culture popularity (having been used in other media as well,) to the episode, 'Terror At 20,000 Feet'... Don't worry that review is coming... In this case, the episode that I am talking about is, 'Time Enough At Last' (1960)!
"That's not fair. That's not fair at all. There was time now. There was, was all the time I needed..." - Henry Bemis (Burgess Meredith - A quote from Twilight Zone episode, 'Time Enough At Last'.)
Based on the short story by Lynn Venable, written by Rod Serling (Planet Of The Apes) & Directed by: John Brahm (Penitentiary), starring: Burgess Meredith (Batman), this episode tells the story of a man by the name of Henry Bemis (Burgess Meredith), and the bad luck he has! What I mean by this is that all Mr. Bemis wants to do is read... So much so that his need to read has made him a poor bank teller, he has lost the respect of his wife, and well... Basically he doesn't have much to look forward to... That is until an H-Bomb changes his world!
Henry Bemis will get the chance to endulge his love of reading... That is until he enters the Twilight Zone of course!
You see after the bomb drops and every is dead Henry Bemis will find his paradise in the remnant of his public library, but when he finds his paradise in the aftermath of Armageddon, The Twilight Zone will commit the ultimate cruel trick on Mr. Bemis... And like Adam & Eve, cast him out of paradise! The truth is, is this episode is as good as the hype! Seeing a young Burgess Meredith was awesome, the story is this is a fun one with a cruel sense of irony that is just awesome! If you haven't seen this episode... Check it out, I am gonna say that for me that this maybe one of the best episodes of this series that I have seen... And if you check it out, you might find the same thing as well!
Michael and his sister are in attendance for this!
