TV Shows This Halloween

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown... Not just fun for the kids... But fun for the whole family on Halloween!

I am going to say this... For awhile there, I was starting to get a little concerned with the direction that TV was taking with all of the useless reality shows that TV was putting on the air... But fortunately, TV has really begun to become TV again... They may still be churning out Reality Shows and the like, but a lot of TV is going back to the type of programming that made TV great from the beginning (such as regular shows!)

And with that in mind, there is a lot of great TV shows out there past and present and that would be great this Halloween!

What I mean by this is that such awesome shows as, 'Supernatural' are out there ready to be watched, but also recently we have seen such shows as: 'The Walking Dead', 'Sleepy Hollow' and other such great current shows come back on the air, as well as in the last few months we have seen Netflix bring back, 'Hemlock Grove'!

Supernatural... maybe not to great for the kiddies this Halloween, but definitely for the adults!

But before you go in to just watching current shows this Halloween, I thought that I would remind you guys of some of the classic out there!

I mean if you are looking for a black and white classic to enjoy with the kiddies... Well you can't go wrong with shows like: 'The Munsters', A show about a Frankenstein's monster, his bride, their Werewolf son, their normal niece, and their Vampire Grandfather, and the normal all-American lives they lead!

Now that show came out in the 60s, and if you are looking for other great's from that era, don't forget, 'The Twilight Zone', I mean as a Horror/Sci-fi show, this show has had some truly terrifying episodes, and some truly heartwarming episodes as well!

The Munsters... A great all American family that looks like it came straight out of a universal monster movie... Still a fun one for the whole family for Halloween! 

And now lets jump ahead to the 1980s shall we, with: Friday The 13th: The Series!

Now this series only has a very small connection to the movie series, but in this series, it tells the story of 2 cousins who end up inheriting an antique shop from one of their relatives... Now this shop used to sell cursed items, and along with the help of a friend of the relative's, the 2 cousins and the friend set out on a quest to take back the items before they could do to much more harm!

And with that said, let's jump ahead to the 90s with: Buffy The Vampire Slayer!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer... A blast from the past, but still as much fun as when it was new!

Now this show, which told the story of a teenage girl and her friends as they are trying to have normal lives during the day, and are fighting the forces of evil during the evening is another great one for Halloween that I suspect is still inspiring the next generation of horror shows!

Now in the end, rather you are looking at watching something that is still on the air, or are going to check up on netflix for some of these older TV series (which they mostly are there,) this list should give you a spo0oktastic good time!

Curious Goods: Where Are The Now

On October 3rd 1987 producer Frank Mancuso Jr. (Friday The 13th Part 2) along with, Louise Robey (Raw Deal) as, 'Micki Foster'', Chris Wiggins (Murder By Decree) as, 'Jack Marshak', John D. LeMay (Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday) & R.G. Armstrong (Children Of The Corn) as, 'Louis Vendredi' would release to the world a little known show that would go on to be a cult favorite among the legions of fans that this show still draws today... That show being, 'Friday The 13th: The Series'!

Well folks, besides Frank Mancuso's role in the production of this series, this series is not really affiliated or connected to the series, as Jason has never made it in to the show, nor has there been much of any interchange between the show and the movies for the cast from the movies... Never the less, it is a truly kick ass show... And I thought you might like to know where the staff of, 'Curious Goods' (The base of operations in the show) are now!

1. Actress and Musician, Louise Robey would go on after the show to have a role in the 1992 thriller, Play Nice, in which she would play, Jill Crane/Rapunzel... Sadly though this seems to have spelled the retirement for Louise Robey from acting...
As of last report, Ms. Robey was still working on various photography and music projects.

2. As for John D. LeMay... He ended his career on the show a little early, but his work on the show led him to be the only cast member to date to ever have appeared in a, 'Friday The 13th' movie, having appeared in, Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993)...
Since his time working on the show, Actor John D. LeMay has continued to work his craft in both the big screen and the small screen as well as going behind the camera when he directed what appears to be the only episode of L'Chaim L.A. to date...

3. Chris Wiggins (who played, 'Jack Marshak') already had an extensive acting resume when he was cast for 'Friday The 13th,' and continued on with his work, with his last credit to date being the role of, 'Cornelius' in the children's TV series, 'Babar and the Adventures of Badou' for it's 2010 - 2011 episode.

4. Steve Monarque... He would end up playing, 'Johnny Ventura' a man who would later replace John D. LeMay's, 'Ryan Dallion' on the show, as some one that is on the same quest with Micki to find the cursed items.

After the show, actor Steven Monarque has continued to act, but he has also branched out in to writing & directing on screen as well as on the stage, as a matter of fact his play, 'Free Country' ended up winning, 'Best Play' at the, 'Strawberry One Act Play Festival' and won best film at the, 'New York International Film Festival' in 2011! As of most recent, it looks like the founder of, 'MonaVision Films' is working on his latest writing and directing project called, 'Please Say A Command'... A short film starring: Jerry Stiller (Seinfeld), which is being slated for release in 2014!

5. Last but certain not least veteran actor,'R.G. Armstrong' (who played, ' Louis Vendredi' in the series). This guy had a prolific career before the release of this show, and continued to work steadily up til about 2006... Unfortunately though, it looks like in 2012 R.G. Armstrong passed away...

In the end, this show may have ended years ago, but the characters and the actors that made this show a cult success will live on in the hearts and mind of the legions of fans that still exist to thus date!

Friday The 13th - The Series Episode: 'The Inheritance' (1987) - TV Episode Review

I first heard about this show, 'Friday The 13th: The Series' back roughly about the early to mid 90s, and I thought that it had to do with the movie series that was written by: Victor Miller (The Black Pearl) and directed by Sean S. Cunningham (The Last House On The Left)... It turns out that it is only very loosely based on the two series... What I mean by this, is that Frank Mancuso Jr. (April Fool's Day) was one of the producers of the movie series from Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981) on up to the end of the time in which Paramount had initial control of the series, also was one of the producers of the series, and ended up actually using, Friday The 13th: The Series, to draw in an audience... There was also several cast tie in's between the series and the movies...

Now the pilot episode, called, 'The Inheritence' tells the story of how, 'Lewis Vendredi' (R.G. Armstrong) is an antique's dealer that has been selling cursed items as part of a deal with the devil and ends up going back on his deal and ends up being killed... Afterward cousins, Ryan Dallion (John D. LeMay) and Micki Foster (Louise Robey) inherit, 'Uncle Lewis's' shop, but they end up discovering what their Uncle was up to and with the help of Jack Marshak (Chris Wiggins) decides to get back all of the items that Uncle Lewis had sold!

As far as casts go, seeing this amazing cast coming together is amazing, and the guests stars, including: R.G. Armstrong, Sarah Polley (GO), Lynne McCormack (Dead Ringers) and that is to name a few was pretty awesome!

As for the special effects... Well lets put it this way... They don't make TV shows like that anymore, this episode had such amazing special effects that it is actually a shame that they don't do things that good anymore!

But the thing that I think that I liked the best about this episode is the story! I mean this episode really was kind of like reading a great first chapter of a novel that is bound to be great!
