F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (2009) - Video Game Review

One of the first video games that I got when I first bought my XBox 360 was. 'F.E.A.R.' (2005)... And I got to say that I was truly impressed by the game, I mean I haven't played a whole heck of a lot of horror video games that were just a total blast... But this one was definitely one of them... And so has the rest of the series as well!

You see, I suspect that this game was modeled after, 'Resident Evil' (2006), but was made using the first person shooter format that would quickly take over the older, 'Over-view style' format... And I have to say that it really worked for the first one, and was just made even better with the release of, 'F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin' (2009)!

Developed by: Monolith Productions & Published by: WB Games. This story starts off roughly toward the tale end of the first video game, in which you play as Michael Beckett, who is a Delta Force officer, who along with the rest of his team, is sent in to take Genevieve Aristide (is the besieged head of Armacham.)

[caption id="attachment_2257" align="aligncenter" width="450"]Ms. Aristide everybody! Ms. Aristide everybody![/caption]

But there is an evil brewing that is threatening to destroy the world... And that is, 'Alma' (generally speaking she is probably the biggest bad of this series as she seems to be directly connected to just about every game that I have played with her in it to date...)

And after the explosion, (this was the ending of the first game and the lead in to just being it's own time line.) Beckett ends up waking up at a Hospital... Where in he and his team begin to research the truth behind a, 'Project Harbinger' and how he and his team relate to it, (and Alma)...

But Beckett and his team are going to have to work quick before Alma can catch up with Beckett and his team and, 'connect up' with Beckett!

In the end, the only real problem I had with this game is the ending... The rest of it is fun, and very well worth the time to play... And I will be honest, and say that if you are playing this game from the first one to the most recent one, then I would say that it is probably well worth the time!

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate - F.E.A.R. Files Expansion Pack (2007) - Video Game Review

So far I have to say that not only are, 'Shooter' games a total blast... (No pun intended) but that those who make horror video games are doing a truly awesome job in the games that they have created... I mean don't get me wrong, there are duds in just about everything, but there are a lot of truly fun horror & shooter games, and there are a lot of truly fun, 'horror shooter' games out there!

The reason that I mention this is the fact that since I have been playing X-Box 360 games, I have found that the makers of these games have done a truly great job in making these types of games! And one that I most recently played that I thought that I would mention here is, 'F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate' (2007)!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="512"] The initial briefing before you and your, 'F.E.A.R. Team' drop in to the facility![/caption]

Now, 'F.E.A.R. Perseus  Mandate' tells the story of how, 'F.E.A.R.' sends in a secondary team to investigate what is going on with the, 'ATC'' only to have you and your team going through various facilities, as you fight not just Replica forces, but mercenaries and the like as you, your F.E.A.R. team as well as Delta Force units race against time to capture the DNA sample of the big bad from the previous game (Alma)!

In the end, I played this game through the, 'F.E.A.R. Files Expansion Pack', which has both this game and, 'F.E.A.R. Extraction Point' (2006), and I have to admit that this one is better honestly for one reason and one reason only, the other game felt to me to be more like a mini-game (I mean I beat, 'F.E.A.R. Extraction Point' in 2 days only playing a few hours each day...) And not only was this game a little bit harder, but I kind of felt like this game was a little more detailed in all of the right areas!

This game was a fun one, and I found it well worth the time, and if you try it out, I think you might end up finding the same thing as well!

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point - F.E.A.R. Files Expansion Pack (2006) - Video Game Review

When I first got my X-Box 360, one of the first genre of games that I wanted to try was the, 'Shooter' genre, I mean since the release of the first Playstation,  this genre not only has become a major player in the video game world, but I would say that it has become more or less a dominant genre in the modern world of video games!

But for me, the one that I was the most interested in was the horror shooters, and one of the games series that I can to try out, and I have found so far is a fun one, is the, 'F.E.A.R.' series... And one that I most recently beat that I found to be fun is, 'F.E.A.R. Extraction Point' (2007)!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="450"] This, 'F.E.A.R. Team' is about to head back in to hell![/caption]

This video game which I played as part of the, 'F.E.A.R. Files' Expansion pack, and tells the story of how after crash landing inside the city, you and your team have to go through various areas of the city, fighting off Demons, and all sorts and kinds of super monsters as you make it to the new  extraction point...

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="312"] A fun place to live, but I wouldn't want to live there![/caption]

Now the truth is, is  that this game which was developed by TimeGate Studios and published by Vivendi Universal, is a fun one, it has great graphics, a fun story line, great music, and it is a game that is really easy to learn the controls (believe it or not there are some games that are actually really hard to learn...)

In the end, this game is worth it... The only problem that I had is that some times you die for sometimes inexplicable and strange reasons...

Never the less, it is a fun one, I found it definitely worth playing, and if you get a chance I think you might find the same thing as well!
