Has there ever been a cartoon that you liked when you were a kid, and thought would make for a great big screen movie, only to have that movie suck?
If you have then you can understand my disappointment... For me that movie was, Inspector Gadget (1999)... Don't get me wrong, it had a great cast that included: Matthew Broderick (Glory) & Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) in the lead roles of, 'Penny' and the eminent Inspector... But the problem is that with a live action cast, if you are like me, then you are expecting a little bit more?
Something along the line of, 'The Pink Panther', I mean Steve Martin (Little Shop Of Horrors), did a great job injecting the seriousness needed for the role when it was needed, while also keeping up with the comedy that was so important to the series...
I was essentially hoping for something like that with, 'Inspector Gadget'

You see, Inspector Gadget I feel is a little bit more then the bumbling idiot he is portrayed to be in the movie, if you really look at the cartoon, you will see that, but you will also see so much more!
What I mean by that, is that where as Inspector Gadget's hi jinks are hilarious, he is also a devoted Uncle, but more so then that, with his catch phrase, 'Go Go Gadget...' He seems to me to be a bit more then your average Inspector!
I mean this guy can produce almost anything from his body... Including propellers from his head, and skies from his feet... And frankly comedy that makes you happy and keeps you interested!

And as he goes after the evil organization of, 'Dr. Claw' (usually portrayed by an arm and a hand that is petting his cat,) remember this, his hi jinks are awesome, but he is also a Detective that keeps you wanting more as well!
