Crackdown (2007) - Video Game Review

[caption id="attachment_385" align="alignright" width="353"]Official Score = 2 Devils Official Score = 2 Devils[/caption]

Believe it or not, I am still relatively new to the modern world of video games, (I come from the background of, 'Super Nintendo', 'Sega Genesis' and the like), so be patient with me as I catch up to the more modern video games... But as I am becoming more familiar with these games I have to admit that the more I am impressed with these types of games!

Now I will admit that I am still a fan of the more Retro 2D games and the 3D games that were really more helicopter views and 3rd person shooters , but I have found that as time goes on and Video Game Companies are creating more and more Video Games like, 'First Person Shooters' &, 'Horror Video Games' the more and more I am impressed! As a matter of fact I would go so far as to say that with the more and more real that these games are really beginning to look, more and more like movies, with closer and closer life like movement, soundtracks that are starting to really heavily get away from their Computer generated and more toward move style sound tracks...

And you know what? That is just part of the reason why, Crackdown (2007) is so cool!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="600"] This super soldier is kicking some gangland butt![/caption]

Created by Realtime Worlds for distribution for the Microsoft X-Box, this game tells the story of, 'Pacific City' a large mostly  Island based city that has been almost entirely overrun by gangs... (In the case of this video game, the Central American Gang, 'Los Muertos' (which means, 'The Dead' in Spanish), 'The Volk' (A Russian gang whose name in English means. 'The Wolf'), and the East Asian Gang, 'Shai-Gen Corporation'... To combat this, and to take back the mean streets of Pacific city, the, 'Agency' (A peace keeping force) creates a super soldier!

And your mission through out the game is to take down the hierarchy of all 3 gang organizations... And lets face it, a veritable army of just dozen after dozen of solders from each gang!

Now like I said above, this game has some great music, it is an older game by comparison, but the graphics are still pretty solid. The 2 problems that I have here is the weird 3rd person shooter/first person shooter cross over that goes on through out the game... And the truth is, is that the game play is unnecessarily confusing, and it makes the initial game difficult to get in to!

In the end though, if you have the patients to get in to it, it will prove out to be a decent enough game, and at the very least one worth trying...
