Into The Storm (2014) - Movie Review

Official Score = 2 1/2 Devils
Official Score = 2 1/2 Devils
You know I will be kind of honest with you guys and say that I am a fan of, 'Underdog Movies', 'B-Movies', 'Grindhouse Films' and the like... The reason being is that the good ones are just that... Despite the fact that most people that are in to mainstream film didn't like them!

And what I mean by that is that some people could not like the bad special FX and ruin the movie for everyone else, or they don't like the story... Or they don't like the actors (which is most common for my circles... And that is mostly because they have never heard of the talent... So it can't be good... meh! I say!)

Well the reason that I mention this is because I recently saw a movie that I would classify by most mainstream fan standards as a, 'B' Movie... That well even though it was not a particularly, 'great' movie, I also found it to have  hit all the right marks... That movie being: Into The Storm (2014)!

In To The Storm... A Total B Movie... But it hit the marks perfectly!
Starring: Richard Armitage (Captain America: The First Avenger), Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), Matt Walsh (Ted), Max Deacon (Flashback A Fool), Nathan Kress (Major Crimes), Alycia Debnam Carey (Where The Devil Hides), Arlen Escarpeta (Friday The 13th), Jeremy Sumpter (Frailty), Lee Whitaker (Jurassic Park 3), Kyle Davis (The Hitcher) & Jon Reep
(Good Luck Charlies.)

This crew is not quite out of the storm yet!
The acting was pretty good, and being a fan of, 'The Walking Dead' I am going to have to say that it was great to see Sarah Wayne Callies back on screen in another thrilling epic!

As for the story... Well I gotta say that the story itself is pretty freaking awesome, and gives an interesting environmental message that should really be taken to heart! You see this movie tells the story of a group of tornado chasers, who, after hitting dead end after dead end, not only hit it big, but will find the biggest tornado in history, in a small town!

During this time, the local High School is having their graduation, and all is there, with the exception of 2 of the non-graduating class. These kids happen to be at the local closed down chemical plant with the intention of making a documentary about the contaminants that are still in the factory...

Donnie (Max Deacon) & Kaitlyn (Alycia Debnam Carey) as they are trapped under what is left of the factory.
And once the Assistant Principal, his son & the Tornado chasers meet up, they are going to have to race against time to save the Assistant Principal's son (who is trapped under the factory with the other student.) Before the student's drown or the biggest tornado in history gets all of them!

Hell even the special effects in this movie are pretty amazing, the biggest problem that I have  found in this movie, and what I found to be particularly distracting is how the movie seemed to go back and forth between being like a documentary, to being a regular movie!

In the end, check it out, it is not the best movie in the world, but it is worth checking out... If anything to see, 'Laurie' from, 'The Walking Dead' back on screen!
