Stephen King... Now this guy in my opinion maybe one of the great horror writers of all time! Why is he so great? Well simply put this guy has written some truly spectacular supernatural novels, rather they be end of the world scenario style novels (such as the case with, 'The Stand'), or being thrown in to what seems like another dimension, (as is the case with, 'The Langoliers') or when some one puts a curse on some one as is the case with, 'Thinner'...
Now at this point you might be wondering why I mention that, 'Thinner' was written by Stephen King instead of, 'Richard Bachman'... Well simply put, Richard Bachman is the pseudonym that Stephen King used to write more then a few of his novels... Besides, 'Thinner' another great example of this is the novel: 'Rage'!
With that said, this novel follows the great old adage, 'A movie based on a novel is usually better in novel form'.... I mean this novel, which tells the story of how a heavy set lawyer ends up being cursed by a gypsy man after he runs over one of the gypsy caravan ends with the curse of getting thinner and thinner until he dies, and the lengths that this lawyer will end up going through to get a little meat on the bone before he dies, is a fun one!
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="550"]Don't get me wrong, this novel probably not one of the best that Stephen King ever wrote, but in my opinion it is a fun one, more then anything this novel is fun because I saw the movie first before I read the novel, and movies rarely capture the full element of the a novel, and this is definitely one of those moments... In this novel, Stephen King expands on the direction that he leads the reader, as this corrupt lawyer figures out how to get free of his curse, and how his gluttony is destroying him slowly but surely!
In the end, this novel is a truly fun one, it may not be the best of King's work, but it is well worth a read!
