The Offspring... Now this is a band that has managed to kick some major ass over the past few decades... (pretty much since they were known as Manic Subsidal in the early 80s) and continues to kick ass even to this point!
And as a matter of fact, they still kick some major ass! But for me their 2 most memorable albums would have to be, Ixnay On The Hombre (The first album that I ever owned of theirs) and Americana, (The first album I ever bought just after it was released!)
Now the reason that these guys continue to consistently kick ass is that consistently, no matter what song they are singing, or the content of the music they are singing, they're energy, and the lively way they sing their music just has always kept me extremely interested in just about every song that I have ever heard from them!
You may be wondering why I am mentioning all of this... Well I hate to say it, but I am for the most part trying soften the blow to the fans out there... But like all good bands, there is always a song or 2 from time to time that even the most die hard fan is not going to like... And for me, that song I hate to say it is the song, 'Americana'...

Now before you fans out there become all shocked and appalled, I am going to say this, it is not a bad song per-say it does have a lot of elements of what makes, 'The Offspring' so awesome and has continued to keep them (in my opinion) at the top of their game... But the problem is that this song felt forced!
What I mean by that is that some songs (just like other forms of art from time to time), are some times forced... who knows why that is, but to me this song seemed pretty unoriginal, and sort of a, 'method' song... (What I mean by, 'method' song is that it seemed like it was sung based on a set routine and was never really deviated from... And thus was good, but never really innately a particularly unique song... (which is something that I do like in the Art that I enjoy.))
In the end despite this song, the band is a great band, and definitely worth checking out!
