Being that I have grown up watching horror movies and have been watching them since I was in my early single digits, there has not been to many horror movies out there that have ever really scared me, and none really that have scared me since I have been old enough to understand what they were!
But there was one type of horror movie that did universally scare me when I was a kid, and that was movies where the doll (or action figure) came to life and started killing people... And unfortunately (or fortunately as the case maybe), I ended up seeing more then my fair share of these types of movies, including such films as, Dolls (1987), Child's Play (1988), and Puppet Masters (1989)!
There is something truly terrifying I believe to a child when they start seeing the potential that toys can come to life and go on a murderous rampage... Well I am not particularly scared of these movies now, and I will be honest and say that since getting over my fear of these types of movies at such a young age, I have since come to realize that these movies more often then not are actually a lot of fun!
A great example of why these movie being a lot of fun, is the movie, Pinocchio's Revenge (1996)!
Written & Directed by: Kevin Tenney (Witchboard). Starring: Rosalind Allen (Seaquest 2032), Brittany Alyse Smith (A Goofy Movie), Candace McKenzie (Frank Finds Out), Ron Canada (Wedding Crashers) Aaron Lustig (Due Date) & Lewis Van Bergen (Bugsy).

This movie has a kind of an unusual story, but great in that it keeps you engaged and wondering what it is all about...
What I mean by this is that Pinocchio's Revenge, tells the story of how one dark and stormy night a Police Officer in a seaside town comes to discover a man by the name of, 'Vincent Gotto' (Van Bergen) who has decided to kill and bury his son and the puppet that he had made for his son!
5 years later when he is about be sent to the electric chair for his death, his public defender, 'Jennifer Garrick' (Allen) is fighting tooth and nail to prove that he did not kill his son, or the other children that he was convicted of murdering!
On the eve of his execution though, Jennifer has come in to the office to discover some evidence that had been sent to her on the, 'Gotto case' that she had ordered a few months ago... Including the puppet that Gotto had tried to bury with his son!
Later on that day, Jennifer is trying to get everything ready for her young daughter's (Alyse Smith) birthday... The only problem is that everything is taking significantly longer then it is supposed to, so when she gets home she is pretty frantic, and her boyfriend, 'David' (Played by: Todd Allen) offers to take care of everything for her... including getting Jennifer's daughter, 'Zoe's'birthday gift from the car.
When Jennifer gets out in to the living room, where her house keeper, 'Sofia' (McKenzie), and David are out hosting Zoe and her friends at her birthday party she notices that the doll from the, 'Gotto case' is the puppet that David got out of the car, thinking that that this was Zoe's birthday gift...
Now of course Jennifer doesn't really think much of it, and is just ecstatic to see her often upset daughter with a toy that makes her happy, and so decides to let her keep the puppet overnight, and would give Zoe her actual gift the next day...
Big mistake, because as time goes on, her daughter develops an unhealthy attachment to the puppet that she has named, 'Pinocchio', and as this unhealthy bond grows stronger and stronger, people start dying around Zoe... Is it the young girl that is becoming unraveled and committing these atrocious crimes? Or is this new addition to Zoe's life some how responsible for all of this?

In the end this movie is a lot of fun, and I found it to be well worth my time, and if you are a horror movie fan, then you might find the same thing as well... The only thing is that I would definitely not recommend watching this with your children!
