Sleeper (1973) - Movie Review

Official Score = 3 Devils
Official Score = 3 Devils
I will be honest and say that I have not seen much in the way of Woody Allen films, when I was younger, I had this preconceived notion that because his brand of humor really appealed to people that were significantly older then I was, that his movies must not be very good... Boy was I wrong!

You see, I recently checked out the movie, Sleeper (1973), and I have to say that I was extremely impressed!

A classic Woody Alan film
A classic Woody Allen film
Written by: Marshall Brickman (Annie Hall) & Woody Allen (Who also directed the movie), starring: Woody Allen (Manhattan), Diane Keaton (The Godfather) & John Beck (Rollerball).

This movie is absolutely hilarious, and tells the story of how Miles Monroe (Woody Allen), whom in the 1970s, checks himself in to the Hospital for a routine operation, but when complications occur from the surgery, he is put in to cryogenic freezing, and wakes up in a completely different world!

miles Monroe is about to wake up in a completely different world! Miles Monroe is about to wake up in a completely different world!

You see, in this new world, mankind is being oppressed by a one world government that is being controlled by an oppressive dictator... And as it turns out, almost everything about the world is turned upside down (as it turns out in this world, cigarette smoking, red meat, sugar, and just about everything that was once considered to be bad for you, is now considered to be good for you!)

A totally different world!
A totally different world!
I can't complain about this movie, I mean Woody Allen put together a performance that is just absolutely hilarious! If you get a chance to see it, do so... You may find it to be as truly hilarious as I do!

I couldn't help myself... If you haven't gone to the bathroom, just in case, you might want to before watching this video:
