Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash Of Superheroes (1999) - Video Game Review

Official Score = 3 Devils

One of the things that I thought would always be cool was the concept of a horror movie that crossed over one of the more famous horror movie villains with another in to one truly epic and fun movie... A great example of this is, Freddy Vs. Jason (2003)!

You see this movie saw the first and currently only genuine cross over between classic horror movie franchises, with the cross over between Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) (The main villain from the, 'A Nightmare On Elm Street Series') and Jason Voorhees, (The main villain from the, 'Friday The 13th movie series'...)

Now you might be wondering why I am mentioning this... Well it may have taken literally decades for the studios to get the clue that a cross over needs to be made, but back in the 90s, there were other such crossovers that were really beginning to take shape, and one of the front runners of this evolution was, 'Marvel' and the work they did crossing in to all sorts of frontiers (like TV & Video Games), and one such game that rocked was the cross over game, 'Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash Of Superheroes' (1999)!

A classic!
Now in my opinion, the reason why this game (which had been developed by Capcom,) was so awesome was that it pit a lot of great characters from both the Marvel Universe, such as: Captain America, Hulk, Spider-Man & Venom (and that is just to name a few), against such epic characters from the Capcom universe as, 'Strider Hyru', (From the 'Strider' video game series), 'Mega Man' (from the series with the same name), and even, 'Ryu' (from Street Fighter)... And that is to name a few!

Ryu vs. Venom... Can I get a, HELL YA!
All of these awesome characters fought in a competitive fighting game that was similar to the style fought in most fighting games even today!  With this game being the first in a series of games, if you haven't had a chance to give it a try, I highly recommend giving this one a try, it is worth it!
