Contra 3: The Alien Wars (1992) - Video Game Review

In horror movies there is something that is kind of interesting... You see in horror movie series they frequently start off with awesome original movies... (As a matter of fact, some of the original movies are so good that they help to make the villains of the piece in to American icons, a couple of examples being: 'Freddy Krueger' & 'Jason Voorhees.)

Well the reason that I mention this is because in video games, (at least in my opinion,) for the most part they tend to get better with age (an example of this of course being, 'Duke Nukem'...)

Well there is one game that seemed to me to at least initially head down that path that so many of the classic horror movies tended to run... That series being, 'Contra'...

Now the truth is, is the first Contra game was truly legendary as far as classic video games go, Contra 2 (1988)... A decent enough game, but Contra 3... phew, what a stinker...

 Contra 3... meh...

I found this to be rare, because I have to be honest and say that where as I did enjoy the original NES and the games that were produced on it, I found that I enjoyed that much more the, 'SNES' and most of the games I played on it... except this one!

I found the game control lame, The music was alright, and the sound effects were alright, but the game play was boring, and ultimately not a whole heck of a lot of fun...

Ultimately guys, I hate to say it, but I never played another Contra game after this, (A situation that I would like to remedy...) But this game was just not one that I liked, if you try it, well... Like anything I suppose you got to try it at least once right?
