Rob Zombie: Superbeast (1999) - Song Review

Official Score = 2 Devils
Official Score = 2 Devils
You know I have to say that Rob Zombie (Halloween) maybe one of the greatest entertainers to hit the modern circuit in the modern day, I mean his horror movies are amazing! I mean, House Of 1,000 Corpses (2003)... I have to admit that I am surprised that this movie did not get it's due when it was first being released!

And as far as his music goes... Well when he was with White Zombie he was good... But as a solo act, his career has really taken off in a major way!

Now the reason that I mention this is the fact that there is a song that he did for his debut album for his solo career... This song is pretty awesome, but the best way I can describe this song is... Well have you ever seen a TV series, and the first season usually seems to be a little off? Well this song I still feel is kind of like that... Good, but his future music just keeps getting better and better!

That song being: 'Superbeast' from his debut album: Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales Of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside The Spookshow International (1998)!

Rob Zombie doing, 'Superbeast' live!
Now this song, which ended up becoming a promotional single in 1999... Don't get me wrong, it is a fun one, but I kind of felt like Rob Zombie with this song was trying to find that direction from being a headliner in White Zombie, to being the master of horror we all know and love!

The truth is, is as fun as it is  to hear a little bit of the ole, 'White Zombie' magic, it is unnecessary, and in all honesty, I believe that, that is what separates this song from what makes the rest of the album truly fantastic!

Either way, if you get a chance, give it a try, it may not be his best song, but it is a good one for sure, and you might find the same thing as well!
