I don't think that I would have lasted long as a hippee in the 1960s... I mean short of the ideals of peace and love and all that, (which I do believe in), I just from all of the movies and documentaries that I have seen, it just doesn't seem like the thing for me...
Well speaking of, 'Love and Peace', and that element that really drove the, 'Hippee Movement' back then, there was a particular concert that I would have absolutely loved to have gone to and that was, 'Woodstock'!
I suspect that unless you were born by the 80s at the latest then you probably would not have heard of it... But from what I understand of it, this concert (which had some truly legendary bands such as, 'Santana', 'Creedence Clearwater Revival' and even, 'The Grateful Dead'... And that is just to name a few) had some truly legendary groups play it!

But one of the reasons that I mentioned this, and that I wanted to write a blog about this is the concept behind this truly legendary concert festival... And that is, 'Peace'!
Now the truth is, is that from what I have seen and read about this concert, there was an awful lot of pot and what not... But that was a sign of the times... I mean during a time in our worlds history that was particularly turbulent, there was a lot of people trying to find their own version of, 'escape'... A couple of great examples of this were: commune's (A community of nature loving flower children that would live together)... Another great example of this is the, 'Biker Gang' (A group that could be said to be it's own roving nomadic mafia...)
But this concert brought together a lot of the greats of the 1960s for peace during a time when it was looking less and less like that was going to happen... And I just wanted to remind the world that these amazing people got together for a peace filled concert, and in these turbulent times that we live in now... Well world peace may not be there yet... But you never know... It could be around the corner!
And that is why I say folks: The Message Of Woodstock... Long Gone But Never Forgotten... And this is coming from a guy who was born nearly 15 years after the famous concert!
