In science fiction, gaining the capacity to explore other worlds as a measure to gain peace on Earth, is a common theme![/caption]The truth is, is that Science Fiction is a total blast! I mean if you like reading about a whole universe that potentially has mankind expanding beyond it's own petty differences and going on different adventures that not only expands the mind, but also entertains the world as well then this is definitely something that should be of interest...
There is another side to Science Fiction as well that goes well beyond just entertainment, but to the true potential of expanding beyond the petty none-sense that mankind some times engages in... And in to something so much more!
What I mean by this, is that Science Fiction truly does show us any number of potential futures, from an Earth that has become a Utopia, where mankind has ventured out in to Space and is now exploring the Galaxy... A time in which not only has mankind gotten beyond their petty nonsense, but also having been able to co-habitate with species all over the Galaxy!

A great example of people getting past bigotry, hatred, and all of the other non-sense![/caption]The truth is though, is that it also can show us a darker more terrifying future, in which either mankind has come to the verge of collapse through some sort of Biological, Chemical, Nuclear, or even Technological Armageddon!

The Terminator is a great example of Sci-fi documenting a future that looks bleak and unkind![/caption]And an even darker side is showing a future in which not only has mankind learned to survive, but it thrives as a totalitarian regime that will brutally destroy any species through out their Empire as they feel like it!
But I personally would like to think that it gives a glimpse in to a more brighter future, a future... Having seen documentaries and TV specials on war torn areas all over the world, and seeing that more and more over time, it seems like the populations of these war torn areas only want peace... I believe that not only is there a brighter future, but I think with the world more and more often wanting peace... It could be a reality!
