Now I am the first to admit (I hate to say it) to the fact that I did not get the opportunity to get to start the, 'Net Force' series from the beginning... You see Tom Clancy is a great author with a lot of novels in some capacity focusing on a situation that involves the military and a situation that is brewing... And you know what? The idea of such an amazing author using his strengths, but doing it in a futuristic Science Fiction format I just think is freaking awesome... And it was!
The truth is though, is that I didn't get the opportunity to do this in this way... Because I didn't know the books existed until I happen to get one of the later edition as present one year! But in all fairness, this series is so good, that even knowing some of the basic details of the story when I did end up reading the first one, didn't really detract as much as I had thought... Although it did detract some from the overall story.

This first story (which sets up kind of what is to come in future stories) is the introduction to the, 'Net Force' a police force tasked with stopping major crimes that are occurring on the internet in a futuristic society in which if you have computer power then you have, 'POWER'! And in this story, a Russian Hacker is doing everything he can to gain enough power to become a major player on the international stage!
Now in all truth, this book was a fun one... For me it lost a little bit of it's luster due to the fact that I had already read one of the future novels, but in all fairness it is a fun one and it is very well written, and if you are looking to get in to these novels, then this is a good one to get in to... The only other thing I would say is it is kind of meaty, so if you are looking for something like that, then this maybe the one for you, if not, but are still looking for something in the Tom Clancy area... Then I would consider something like, 'The Hunt For Red October'... It is a fun read, and will help you start on the path to wanting to read, Net Force!
